If you've ever sat and pondered which wheel will tolerate your riding style, don't fret, DT Swiss has simplified the process. With its new Spline Technology wheel line, DT Swiss has created designs to meet every intended riding application. And for those with a penchant for all-mountain riding, the X 1600 Spline 29 Wheel is aiming at you. Starting at the rim, DT Swiss constructed the X 1600 from a lightweight aluminum alloy. By doing so, weight is well managed without subtracting from the X 1600's intended application, all-mountain riding. That's right, durability and a stiff ride quality were at the forefront of this wheel's design. So, while the wheel remains compliant on rough terrain, DT Swiss guarantees a reliable power transfer and exceptional tracking on the trail. And not surprisingly, DT Swiss managed to achieve this at a respectable 1770 grams. For a reference point, the carbon fiber Enve Twenty9 AM tips the scales around 1644 grams with King ISO hubs. Durability is covered through a few subtle, yet key design features that DT Swiss calls its Spline Technology. For one, you'll find that DT Swiss applied its patented Prolock to the nipple threads. Essentially, this application seals the nipple to the thread, resulting in less tension loss, and ultimately, less wheel truing on your part. Additionally, the clincher wheel is convertible to a tubeless tire system. And when converted, your ride quality will benefit from lower tire pressures, less rolling resistance, and a near elimination of pinch-flats. Now, lets move into the keystone of the X 1600, the all-new Spline hubs. Essentially, DT Swiss designed the Spline hubs to strike the ideal balance between strength and weight savings. To do so, DT Swiss opted to design the hub around the use of straight pull, Competition spokes. So, the hub shell sees a reduction in weight, while providing the perfect positioning for the spoke anchors. What are spoke anchors? Well, they're a section of the hub flange that...

This jacket(s) is hands down the best jacket I have ever worn for cycling. It is actually two jackets that can be worn together along with a detachable balaclava. I have several other Pearl Izumi jackets and this is the best one by far. Yes it is not cheap, but definitely worth it as it is the last jacket I need to buy. I have gone on a 50+ mile road ride with temperatures below freezing (not to mention the windchill) and I never got cold. The balaclava is wonderful and much better fitting than the other Pearl Izumi balaclava that I have. The pockets up front are perfect for holding my smartphone and the pocket in back has three additional pockets within it. I'm so glad I purchased this jacket and I highly recommend it. Now I have no worries about getting bored riding on my trainer this winter as I will be outside ridding. I did get one size larger than I normally get for Pearl Izumi products and it fits perfectly and comfortably. I was concerned about the black outershell jacket but my worries were quicly subdued as the back and front pockets have reflecting piping around the zippers and do a wonderful job reflecting headlights. It is well worth the investment.|||The best winter riding jacket ever! Super warm and very comfortable. Highly recommend it to someone who rides a lot.|||I returned the first one I got as it did not ship with the lining and baclava. The second one is perfect. You may wish to go one size up, as it is a tight fit. Good construction, two breast pockets and one wide rear pocket. Liner quickly removes. I hope to use it through March and April when the cold mornings make riding less enjoyable. The Liner has an inner pocket also. I like the way the collar closes as to keep the cold out. Well thought out product. Make sure you get all the items, jacket, liner, baclava, small carry bag for baclava. I have added this after a month of use. I have never been so comfortable while riding in winter weather. Early morning 40 degrees and warm as toast. Great product worth every penny.|||Have used this jacket down to minus 5 C with a thin base layer under. Was nice and warm even though I was training with only medium intesity. Have also used it without the primaloft inner jacket around zero and with high intensity, and it seems to breate very well.|||This jacket is amazing, after I'd convinced myself to spend the $$$ on it. The jacket's two layers together kept me warm (almost too warm) on a 2 hour ride in 28 degree weather the other day, wearing only a long-sleeve baselayer underneath. Still, it's not bulky or restrictive--well cut sleeves and waistline kept me from choking myself in the drops and kept my back warm the entire time. Great product.
One little note - I had to go up a size from my normal to get one that fit. I wear size M jerseys, bases, t-shirts, etc, but a medium on this was too small for me if I was wearing anything (even just a base) under it. Had to trade it in for a L, which fits very nicely.
Bottom line - if you're looking for a jacket that'll let you ride through the winter (and you're not in Alaska or Minnesota) that won't cost as much as a Assos or Rapha, this is it.|||This jacket looks great and is really warm. It's a two layer jacket, which is great because the shell makes a great jacket for 50 - 55 degree F weather. You can thrown in an undershirt for a little warmth. I think the fit is great too. I am a medium and a size large for Castelli gear, and the medium fit me perfectly. I actually ordered a large that I had to return because of the other review about sizing. If you are a medium, by a medium! Unless you like your cycling jacket baggy, which seems weird. I can assure you that this jacket fits the same as all other Pearl iZUMi gear, so just buy your size and disregard that other review.|||I've been riding for years and until now have always felt trapped indoors on the trained during the winter. This soft shell is perfect for me. It is warm, wind-proof, and flexible enough to be comfortable in saddle. They do run on the small side; I'm 5'9" 170lbs and usually wear a Med in Pearl Izumi, but this I got in a large and it fits like a glove. Too bad though, I believe PI has discontinued this soft shell.|||It is perfect for riding my MTB, walking in the wild while snowing or for snowboarding or skiing if the weather is not too extreme.
