At only 410 grams per pair, you'd expect the Giro Prolight SLX II Shoes to feature all the latest bells and whistles. Upon inspection, however, you're quick to realize that the minimal design utilizes more traditional hook-and-loop closures. Taking a cue from the peloton, Giro designed the Prolight SLX II without mechanical closures so that in the event of a crash, which can be devastating in and of itself, the shoes are easily re-secured so that the rider can be back in the group in a timely manner. Buckles all too often crack and are rendered useless -- a lousy way to have your Grand Tour dreams end. The uppers of the Prolight SLX II have been sewn from Evofiber. This synthetic material is lightweight and breathable, and it comfortably conforms to your foot. The Evofiber features perforations for maximum ventilation. Perhaps the most impressive part of the Prolights are the outsoles -- the direct power transfer between your foot and the bike. Giro worked with Easton to develop an ultra-stiff carbon sole, known as the EC90 SLX ACC sole. It features a low 6. 5mm stack height, and the fit is narrow so that when you stand or when your feet swell, they push out against the softer Evofiber of the uppers rather than against carbon. This reduces pressure and minimizes potential hotspots, especially in the forefoot area. New for 2014, the footbed is the Ultralight SuperNatural Fit Kit. This footbed is adjustable so that your feet are properly supported where you need it. It is made from X-Static Antimicrobial fiber, which helps to keep bacteria and odors at bay. The shoes are secured with three hook and loop straps. Each strap is looped through a titanium D-ring that has been offset from the center. This helps to balance the strap so that the shoe fights tightly to your foot across the entire upper, not just on one side. The Giro Prolight SLX II Shoes are available in whole and half sizes from 39. 0 to 47. 0 and in whole sizes 48. 0 to 50. 0. They come in three color...

Easton always has a nice fit and finish to their wheels and the EA50 Aero
is another great example. Not the lightest by any stretch, but a great entry
wheel upgrade. The anodized red hubs get high marks from me on appearance.
Flat black bladed spokes are strong and aerodynamic. An excellent wheel
for the money.|||I have those wheels on my Specialized Allez, their only purpose is to make your bike look good. Performance is average at best, not very aero.|||I like. It's a beautiful one. Now i'm lokking for the rear wheel.
And the price doubles the advatage. thanks
