It runs almost constantly in rainy weather in our troublesome crawlspace. This one seems quieter than than the older one. Again, we're very pleased with this product.Great little sump pump for those el nino years when we get a lot of rain and it floods. It'll pump small solids like dirt but has a built in screen to keep out large solids like rocks. One power cord plugs into the other so you only need one outlet to plug into, not two. An excellent little portable pump since you can use the hose adapter to screw in a regular garden hose to use as a drainage line. So if you would rather have a portable submersible pump rather than a fixed one, this little model is perfect for that.Little Giant-5-ASP"
