After several inches of rain, I took out my old ""little Giant"" of more than 15 years and the cord fell off. So called two local pool shops, no luck, then went online and found this pump and had it in the pool pumping in less than a week. ThanksI am using the pump to pull standing water from under our house. Despite a heavy concentration of mud it just keeps on pumping.great for my poolExcelent productI use this pump to eliminate water from the top of my pool cover in the winter. Works great. Attach a long garden hose to the pump and put the end of the hose somewhere lower than the pump so the water will naturally siphon out after you unplug from the electrical outlet. plug it in for 1-2 minutes to get it started and then unplug it. The natural siphon effect (my pool is higher than surrounding ground) will then remove all the pool cover water. I do not have to leave the pump plugged for an undetermined amount of time. Try this if your pool cover is higher than the surrounding ground. The last Little Giant pump I owned lasted about 22 years pumping water from my pool cover. It finally died so I just bought a new one. How many things like this do you have that lasts over 20 years? Try it , you will like it!Long story short - I have a stream in my yard and a walk-out basement. Several months ago after a very heavy rain the stream overflowed and all the water came in underneath the basement door. I paid $500 to have a pro come and clean out all the water. He suggested this pump for future use. Recently we had a heavy snowstorm, a freeze and then heavy rain with a thaw. If I didn't have this pump I would have had a flooded basement again. I attached a hose to it, put it in the spot where the water gathers and put the hose as far away from the house as possible. I though these little pumps were just for water features and the like. This little pump is very powerful. No more flooded basements. It doesn't get any easier. I just purchased another one just in case the first one goes. Also, it is so quiet that you don't even know that it's running.This little submersable pump is perfect for removing trapped water from my pool cover. Just attach a standard water hose and plug it in. It does the work.It replaced a pump that I had used in a fountain I created some years ago. I had this model of pump at one time in the past, and it worked long and hard throughout the season.Used to remove pool water from cover. Holds up well through rainy weather. Very durable.
