Two months after that call, two large bales of Persian Rugs were delivered to a bewildered Ahmad at his dormitory. When he called his father to ask why they were sent, Haji Momeni replied, ""Because people want them, so sell them"", and Ahmad began to sell them to professors, and around campus. He eventually took his show on the road and drove throughout the country selling these rugs. Soon his father joined him and they opened a small retail store in Austin, Texas, selling one-of-a-kind Persian rugs.In 1975, father and son moved to NY and formed Momeni, Inc., a fine Oriental rug importer. The beige taupe that shows in the photo is more of an off white color so the contrast is more dramatic than depicted.This rug is at least as pretty as the photo shows. The wool is a little troublesome since it makes fuzz constantly. My vacuum is always handy! I still love the rug.I love this rug, was concerned about the white parts of the rug but it is slightly off white and have not been a problem with foot prints. The colors are true to the picture, very bright. white is between white and ivory, its not snow white, but with our dark hardwood floors it looks awesome. it's shedding now but not too bad, all wool rugs are shedding for a while. quality wise it is a good quality. We have all wool rugs in our house and i know that it'll be shedding for few months at least. i would highly recommend. it brings great style to our house.The design of this rug is what got my attention. However, had I know how much the rug would shed its fibers, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. I get fiber material all over the area, and when I vacuum it it fills the canister completely each time. It is definitely beautiful to look at but I would hesitate to put it in a well traveled area..Very nice carpet. lots of hair comes out tough. I guess it will diminish in time."
