The border is true black, the red is a non-purpley red and there is just a touch of mossfern green in the leaves. I wasn't expecting that, but I really like it. Quality is superb. The price on the rug has come down, so I am being refunded the difference. I was concerned about the color of rug pictured. Hoping it would have been more of a red, it is more of a deep rich Ruby or Garnet. The rug is a very tight weave,and is very thick. This rug looks $$$$$ ! Very happy with this purchase, came very well packaged and on time.Beautiful colors, great quality -- purchased 4x6 oval and 8x10 rectangular -- beautiful for Victorian home. No fringe to be garbled up by the vacuum cleaner! Very heavy...no need for pads to hold in place on the runners (8 and 12 feet long) nor on the larger sizes. This rug would go with just about any color scheme you might choose. I absolutely love them.nice and thick rug..will be great in dining room"
