It just looks like shredded newspaper and the scraps used to make the rug have yellow paper on the back or red marker on some pieces. I've replaced slippers andor bare feet with flip flops because its so uncomfortable to walk on. I only kept it to avoid the hassle of rolling up the heavy monstrosity and carrying it to my car to ship back.Bought 8x10 size. Rug looks exotic and interesting from a distance, but on closer inspection the individual leather pieces are rather nasty. This is obviously a collection of the cheapest leather scraps from a leather goods factory. Some have very odd shapes, some havestainsand writing in ink, many are brown, twisted and cord-like. Seems like the factory floor was swept up and fashioned into this rug. Have to wonder about cleanliness. You definitely get what you pay for with this rug.Thinking about a return.looks great under my coffee table, but not recommended for high traffic areas. More grey looking than white. Still love it. We get compliments on the rug all the time.I've purchased a few things from this site and I've been very pleased with all of the items, except this rug. It has a strong chemical smell and I just don't love the look or feel of it. I'll probably sell it to a friend.very nice. only complaint is it's much more grey than white. i thought i was receiving white. still nice though so i plan on keeping it.The carpet I received is gorgeous but very delicate it is not meant for heavy traffic at all. I did noticed some of the leather pieces were coming off very easily. It looks great!This rug is beautiful! It is different though. If you want something routine this isnt the rug for you. It isnt comfortable on your bare feet but I am using in my foyer so it serves my purpose perfectly. I would definitely recommend this rug.For the money, the rug is of decent quality, but there were several pieces that had to be cut out because of black and red markings.If you want the looks but not the comfort. The leather rug look amazing, really makes whatever sits on it pop but is not ideal to walk on. I still love the look so it's staying!Love the carpet which was exactly as portrayed in the picture on the website. The color overall is more on white side but it has white, gray and taupe leather strips. The service was excellent and representative on the phone was very helpful.Laval, QC"
